Hi All,
I am trying to study the effect of EGR temperature on the flame speed. I would like to have my fuel/air mixture at a high temperature, and my EGR at a lower temperature. Is there anyway to do that? I am using converge 2.4. Thank you for you help and support! |

Hello Amer,
Please elaborate on what you would like to achieve. 1) If you want to perform 1D simulations to get "Laminar" flame speed, then accounting for a different temperature of EGR is not possible. 2) If you would like to inject EGR at a different temperature than the Intake (if injecting in ports) or cylinder (if direct injection), this is possible. In such a simulation you can access the turbulent flame speed. To do this correctly using SAGE, you would have to use monitor points to record Temp or OH or some flame marker and then a script to calculate the flame speed from the recorded data. Please reach out to support@convergecfd.com and mention my name to get your hands on such a script. Note that, when SAGE is used the laminar and turbulent flame speed reported in post files are estimates from user specified correlations but the simulated flame may travel at a different flame speed that is dictated by the local conditions. Thanks, Nitesh Quote:

Hi Nitesh,
Thank you for your quick answer. I wanted to check if i can introduce the fuel/air mixture and EGR at different temperatures from the 1-D tool. According to your answer, it looks like i cant. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. |
