DDPM with heat transfer: results are dependent of parcel size

I am doing a gas-particle heat transfer simulation using DDPM and I can see that energy-related results (for example particle exit temperature as shown in the figure) are highly dependent on parcel size (constant mass parcel release method) no matter how we make the parcels finer (having more representative parcels in the domain). Do you have any idea what is causing this? is it normal? any suggestion to avoid this?
