Hello friends,
I have downloaded Ansys student version. I am trying to learn CFD (Fluent). But Fluent is NOT working. Error message as shown in image appears. I tried both serial mode as well as parallel mode but neither worked. Request you to guide/help me to correct/rectify problem. Thankyou, |

Which mpi are you using? Try a different one. Also make sure you've allowed Fluent through the firewall.

Thanks a lot.
Previously I was using default mpi (of fluent). Then I switched over to intel and msmpi. However error message (in image files) appears. How to allow Fluent through firewall? Also Why Fluent (in serial mode) does not work? |

You are using Fluent v19. There is no more a serial mode. The serial mode is actually parallel mode using 1 process. Hence the mpi is still called and it fails for the same reason that your parallel mode does not launch.
Actually you can invoke the vanilla serial mode by launching fluent and passing the -t0 flag instead of -t1 or -t3 in your case. But this requires more setup, and it doesn't fix your problem. Why does it say it cannot find the missing files? Can you go there in windows explorer and check? Did you forget to install the pre-reqs before installing Fluent? Specifically visual studio? On the installer there is a little program to check for pre-reqs. Run it. |

Its an auto installation process. All pre-req checked and installation done (by Ansys installer).
I will re-install v19.2 and check. |
