Mathematical model for rolling in flapping wings of insects

Hello,
I am trying to formulate a methodology for rolling motion in flapping wings of insects. As the rolling motion kinematics is not very developed I am trying to find an exact solution for the same. I have attached the flow diagram for my problem. I would be glad if anybody can provide any ideas for the same. Thanks again. |

Hi. Firstly, I think it is highly unlikely that you will be able to derive an exact mathematical solution for this (if that is what you are looking for). Secondly, that is not really within the scope, or spirit, of a forum dedicated to CFD ;-)
You could use CFD to predict a curve of lift coefficient of the wing as a function of angle of attack, or something similar. But an exact mathematical solution for this, I don't think is realistic. As far as I know, there are no exact mathematical solutions for lift coefficients of standard airfoils, for example. |
