Hi all,
This is my first post! I'm working on a fluid mechanics problem in which the fluid flows parallel to a bank of rods. This is a common configuration in water and sodium cooled nuclear reactors. I wrote a code in MATLAB that calculates the coolant mass flow distribution, pressure drop and associated temperatures. I have attached the link for a document that outlines my problem and a CFD run I have done so far. My matlab model discretizes the fluid domain into "subchannels" control volumes. I have some results and I want to compare them against CFD solution. What I want to do is to draw "subchannel" shaped areas in my CFD solution and area-average to find the mass flow rate through the subchannels. I tried importing .STL file to CFD post for area averaging, but it did not work. Adding "frozen surfaces" in design modeler does not also seems to help, as fluent does not recognize these surfaces. I am sure that this is a relatively simple problem which is for some reason hard for me. If you could point me in the right direction, I would very much appreciate it. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YV...upWMUnRRGHTjan |

Never mind. I figured it out. Imprint faces and Named selections work.
