Problem which has both laminar and turbulent flow

Hi guys,

What kind of turbulence model you suggest in a problem where both laminar and turbulent flows exist in the same system.

I've searched around a bit and learned a bit on Transition SST but it only talks about external and flow separation problems, what's the alternative for internal flows like ducts. pipes etc.?

Intermittency transition can help you

How sure are you that you have both types of flows?
How far off is a standard turbulence model to your data?

1) Use a Intermittency transition model.
or
2) Define a region where you don't model turbulence.
