Can someone help me with the integration of this function with respect to x. Integral of [(e^(Xt))/((b+x)^(a+1))]. the limits of integration is zero to infinity. I couldn't use the integral sign using this messaging tool so if anyone try to help me, the integral sign should be included in the problem.

integrate((e^(xt))/((b+x)^(a+1)), x, 0, inf); Is a+1 positive, negative or zero? Question returned by maxima?

I have just realised that the integration should not consist of the exponent term as I was trying to obtain the moment generating fucntion of a pdf. My main integrattion question is to obtain the integral of [(x^r)/(b+x)^(a+1)] in the limits of zero to infinity where a and b are constants.

I guess you can download maxima (free and open source) http://wxmaxima.sourceforge.net/
(%i1) integrate((x^r)/(b+x)^(a+1), x, 0, inf); Is r+1 positive, negative, or zero? Good Luck |

You can try to use Maple which is a powerful mathematic software to integrate the function.
