It act as secondary gradient in non-orthogonal meshes (like poly-hydra). So it gives identical results to that of k-e for k-omega model. SST k-w has to incorporate this diffusive term as it is a combination of k-w and k-e. So not considering this term will give unstable solution in more skewed mesh. Also the near boundary fluxes will be assumed wrong.
