How to learn Pointwise (or anyother MESHING tool) ?

Hi there everyone!

I have just completed my bachelor's and free now. I aim to learn some software for meshing, I tried with ICEM, but found it very difficult. I switched to Pointwise, I started with Tutorial book. But, soon I became exhausted. Can anyone please suggest me How and Where should I start mastering Pointwise. I have used ANSYS in my final year project.

I am completely free now a days, and really want to make good use of my time. Please suggest me some good sources to start with Pointwise.

If anyone thinks that I should start with some other meshing software. Please let me know.

Pointwise offers free classes several times per year.

well, fortunately pointwise has produced a lot of training material, probably more than you can go through and it is generally quite useful.

if you are completely new to pointwise, probably have a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFfq57qoxfI

Also, on their youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIg...uIeHrz1i2GI1lg) they upload a small video every tuesday to show a feature of pointwise which i find quite useful. Anyways, those videos are usually only 2 minutes long, so can't really go wrong with that. They also post webinars there so those will also help you get started.

Actually, a lot of webinars are not posted on youtube (or they are unlisted, rather), but you can watch those here: http://www.pointwise.com/solutions/

They also write about certain techniques here http://www.pointwise.com/theconnector/ which is also quite useful. Those material will get you started and even specialised in a particular field, as they tend to have several webinars for specific topics, so I am sure you will find something of interest there.

if you are comfortable with text instead of using tabs in a software, gmsh would be good choice, it is free, extremely light software, in Linux no need to install, able to coding for some calculation and some other stuff. basically it is for finite element, but fvm is also kind of finite element.
