Hello my fellow CFD experts.
I have a question to ask. How do you model saturation of a porous medium like a sponge. I am using a simple design. A block that acts as the inlet into the porous medium and another block as the porous medium itself. I applied water vapour at 25 degrees Celsius and inputted the volume porosity and permeability losses. However, I am not sure my results are correct. When I check results for mass flow rate in the porous medium section, the mass flow rises and falls and eventually flat lines; remaining the same for the entirety of the simulation. I figured it should drop to zero steadily as the porous medium becomes saturated with moisture. I am running a transient analysis for 6 months, using a day as the duration of each time step. Please I need your inputs. Thanks |
