Dear all,

Could you tell me if there are good books about unstructured grid finite volume approaches ? What are the major differences between a structured grid and an unstructured grid CFD solver ?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

There are few text books explain unstrucured grid methodology in detail, as I know. I think that you had better read some related theses for your concerns or some journal papers. See the web page of CFD research lab at University of michigan, Missisipi state univ.,University of texas at austin, and so on.

Good luck

Thanks, I feel I need something more systematic. For example, how to evaluate the fluxes and arrange the order of the cells in an unstructured grid solver.

I agree with senthil.

Chapters on Dr. Blazek's book explains how to sum up flux, edge-based method, etc. nicely.

Dr. T. Barth home page has a link to his must-read VKI-lecture-note. Here's the link: http://people.nas.nasa.gov/~barth/home.html

Dr. Lohner's 'Applied CFD Techniques' is also very very good if you want to improve your data structure and so on. His home page link is http://www.science.gmu.edu/~rlohner/
