Red face How to generate the geometry of a muti-element airfoil?

Does anybody know how to generate a multielement airfoil from a single airfoil data?
For example, if i wanna split a clean wing into a main wing and a flap in 2D, how can I draw the slit line? Are there any rules or references for generating such a line?
