hi ngj,

i have a question about the coupling of OCW3 and openfoam , it seems that the generated wave is based on stream function wave theory,so is it only applicable to the case when the ratio of water depth to wave length is relatively small?

Thank you in advance

Hallo Aloha,

The example, yes, is based on stream function wave theory. OCW3D is on the other hand a fully nonlinear solution to the wave problem over an arbitrary bed. I suggest that you consult the release document in waves2Foam and the references stated therein.

Kind regards,

Niels

Hi Niels:
I'm so sorry to trobule you. I have introduced the density item into ke model as you mentioned above. It works, and the wave energy disspation declinded. however, the disspation is not elimilated totally. I test Kirby's experiment. The wave sholud break at point x=12.5m, while in my model, it breaks at the location x=15.2m. For the wave height , it almost keep constant as the water become shallow. so I want to know is there some mistakes in my model or there're some other works i need to do to solve this problem.

Kind Regards
Fan Fei
