Hello to all
I've just failed trying to install foam-extend-3.2 on ubutnu 16.04 lts

cd ~
mkdir foam
cd foam
git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/foam-extend/foam-extend-3.2 foam-extend-3.2

cd ~/foam/foam-extend-3.2
echo export WM_THIRD_PARTY_USE_BISON_27=1  >> etc/prefs.sh
 
source etc/bashrc
echo "alias fe32='source \$HOME/foam/foam-extend-3.2/etc/bashrc'" >> $HOME/.bashrc

./Allwmake.firstInstall

After the installation i tried to use command like "checkMesh" or "simpleFoam" but it does not recognize it.
I jumped some commands because i've already installed OpenFoam 2.3.0 so like the command about configuring Paraview.
Did i jump some foundamental command? Or is it a problem about ubuntu 16.04?

Quick answer:

1. Edit the file "$HOME/.bashrc" (or "~/.bashrc", it's the same file) and make sure that all OpenFOAM/foam-extend sourcing lines are using aliases, as explained here: https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/I...nFOAM_versions
2. Then start a new terminal window and activate only the environment for foam-extend 3.2, by running:
   

   fe32

3. Then run the following commands:
   

   foam
   ./Allwmake > log.make 2>&1

4. Finally, when it's complete, use the following command to zip the file "log.make":
   

   gzip < log.make > log.make.gz

5. Then attach the file "log.make.gz" to your next post. This will tell us all of the build errors that are happening.
