Hi, Sir / Madam;
I had a “segmentation fault” (as following picture) when running paraview after installed the latest openfoam11 in ubuntu 22.04 WSL V2 environment under Window11 23H2. I follow exactly the procedures showed in the link (https://openfoam.org/download/windows/) to install OPENFOAM11 but it seems cannot run the paraview in Ubuntu. I had asked Paraview Forum and they suggest me to raise such question here at Openfoam forum. Anyone can help me with this is really appreciated! Thank you! ![]() |

same here:
Paraview 5.11 and 5.12 seg faults but paraview 5.6 and 510 is working fine (using nvidia 470 driver on ubuntu 22.04) Got all fixed with: sudo apt autoremove sudo apt purge paraview sudo apt autoremove sudo apt install paraview OOOPSY: if I run the paraviews on their own - then all is fine (have to "touch zzz.foam" and then manually open zzz.foam with paraview) BUT - running source /opt/openfoam11/etc/bashrc and THEN running paraFoam OR paraview ... makes everything crashes again. My Solution thus: Open paraview OR /opt/openfoam11/bin/paraFoam [separately in another terminal where the openfoam11/etc/bashrc] was NOT applied ... and manually open the case via zzz.foam Last edited by benico; March 21, 2024 at 05:17. Reason: fixed |

Hi, I got my problem solved. I can run the Paraview 5.10.1 from Ubuntu terminal now (no more segmentation fault). What I did were following procedures :
1. unregistered my original Ubuntu at Powershell, 2. re-install Ubuntu-20.04 from Powershell and 3. follow the openFOAM11 installation procedure again. Now, running Paraview 5.10.1 from Ubuntu terminal is OK. I leave this message in case someone want to try above procedures as I did. Hope this can help other’s question! |
