You seem a bit lost in the forum too Here is a thread that has more relevant information about Fedora 13 and OpenFOAM 1.7: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...dora-13-a.html

From there you can choose whether to install OpenFOAM 1.7.0 or 1.7.x, since the instructions shouldn't be very different!

Best regards,
Bruno

Many thanks Alberto,

(I received an email-notification a couple of days after your reply.)

At last I have been trying to become familiar with OpenFOAM/Paraview some days now. After installing openSUSE 11.3 the problem with my graphic card was over (thanks to the updated 'radeon' driver). I wish that also other people take advantage of the list of the actions/tips mentioned in the thread 'http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/openfoam-paraview/78243-installation-problem-paraview-3-8-0-opensuse-11-2-a.html#post269879'. Other than that, I think that openSUSE 11.3, compared to 11.2 succeeds in keeping my laptop's temperature at a significantly lower level, even 'suspend to RAM' does work!

I couldn't work on ParaView using paraFoam. Thanks to your tip in your site, I am able to work on it, using pvFoam!

Best regards,
Menandros

You are welcome. OpenSUSE 11.3 is going to receive also a good number of patches following user reports, which should make it be a very nice release also for who has very recent hardware (iCore and similar).

About paraFoam, I never figured out how to make it work consistently. It seems oversensitive to Qt versions and paraview versions unfortunately. pvFoam behaves more smoothly.

Best,
