Owen99 is on a distinguished road
Hello,
I'm a third year student trying to use snappyHexMesh on dsmcFoam.
I've made an object in solidworks (just to get the simulation running) and saved it as an STL file, being careful to ensure its in ascii etc.
Then I change all the relevant parts of the surfaceFeatureExtractDict to the name of the STL file.
When I then run surfaceFeatureExtract the following error comes up.

/*---------------------------------------------------------------------------*\

Reading surfaceFeatureExtractDict

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
No surfaces specified/found for entry: Part.stl

From int main(int, char**)
in file surfaceFeatureExtract.C at line 305.

FOAM exiting

However when I run the inbuilt blob file, it works fine.

Do I need to convert to stl.gz for this to work? If so how could I do this on solidworks/another program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
