Hello. I would like to know how to convert a .sim file generated in star ccm+ (having a 3d mesh as well as boundary conditions set) into a OpenFOAM readable file. I am a complete beginer in OpemFOAM as well as Star ccm+.
Basically i would like to know how to convert a 3d mesh generated in star ccm+ to OpemFOAM.

You need to export as a .ccm file (normally a .ccmg - for geometry) and then use a convertor such as ccmToFoam (in the www.openfoam.com version), for which you need access to the proprietary libccmio library.

Or you can possibly export your geometry as "proSTAR" format, in which case you can use the star4ToFoam utility.

Hello,

I m new on OpenFOAM, I prepared a mesh in STAR CCM+ and I am trying to export it to OF. I searched about it and find this ccm26ToFoam. So now I am trying to use it but getting same error. Can anyone help me?

Details:
OpenFOAM-9 is installed on my ubuntu.
My mesh is tetrahedral with prism layer from STAR CCM+.
I can export it as .ccm format.
ccm26ToFoam doesn't work. (There may be an issue about my installation but I did some analysis before without any problem by using rhoSimpleFoam.)

Attempt to export as a proSTAR mesh (if possible) and use star4ToFoam. Alternatively, there are a variety of ccmToFoam, foamToCcm etc tools in the www.openfoam.com version (ie, from OpenCFD Ltd, not from OpenFOAM Foundation Ltd), but these will still require that you have access to the base-level libccmio library (proprietary).

Thank you for your response,

I was using an OpenFOAM version from OpenFOAM Foundation, I will switch to ESI groups version. But I couldn't understand how can I install libccmio.
