kee555 New Member Fantastic Boy Join Date: Oct 2017 Posts: 3 Rep Power: 8	Hi there, Is there anyone know the correct formula for magnitude of strain rate tensor. Currently I'm using *(sqrt(2)mag(symm(fvc::grad(U)))** but some said above equation is for second invariant of the strain rate tensor. The question is, should I stick with the equation above or there is another formula to determine magnitude of strain rate tensor. Thank You Last edited by kee555; October 30, 2017 at 09:05.
