Hi guys,

since I am a newbie in OpenFOAM I need some Input for a problem I want to solve.

I want to simulate a 2D flow around a cylinder in a channel. I already simulated this with a fully discretized cylinder.

Next I want to model the cylinder by imposing drag related volume body force in the center cell of a imaginary set cylinder, wihtout any discretizing, similar to immersed boundary method, but different approach.

For getting a imaginary "diameter" I was thinking about setting gauss distribution (avoiding wiggles due to pressure jump,...) in a given range around this center cell.
The Force to include can be concluded by drag relation.

Do you know any helpful post or tutorial setting up such a case?

Thanks in advance
