Hello,

My question is about the fluid force applied on the solid patch in icodymfoam, what we find in setMotion.H, is juste pressure, !! Is the correct force implemented elsewhere ?

regards

The Q is a bit broad, isn't it?

ok sorry, i will explain it better.
at the fluid-structure interface, we have as BC the equality of constraints (file attached). But when I checked in setpressure.H of icodymfoam it looks like this :

{
scalarField solidPatchPressure =
interpolatorFluidSolid.faceInterpolate
(
p.boundaryField()[fluidPatchID]
);

solidPatchPressure *= rho;

tForce.pressure() = solidPatchPressure;

vector totalPressureForce =
sum
(
p.boundaryField()[fluidPatchID]*
mesh.Sf().boundaryField()[fluidPatchID]
);
}

So there isn't the part of the force due to the velocity and the viscosity.

Am I rignt, or is it done elswhere in the code.

Regards

Oh yeah, I think so.

I think what you are looking for is an active research topic, thats why it is not available thereat or somewhere else I think.

Hi,

As noted previously, the icoFsiFoam solver only passes pressure to the solid and ignores viscous stresses e.g. see other threads:
Fluid Structure Interaction using icoFsiFoam Problems

You can try later FSI solvers that include both e.g. extend-bazaar and solids4foam.

Thanks,

Is it possible to add it to the current code?
I made some changes, so I want to continue using icofsifoam for the time being!
