Dear Forums,

I used scalarTransportFoam to simulate species transport in a tube. The species is defined between 0 and 1. But I saw same literature state that "we set species A is 1kg/m3". I was confused that how to set species with unit (kg/m3) in scalarTransportFoam? Anyone know the reason and how to set the unit? Thanks in advance!

As far as I am aware, the value between 0 and 1 represents the mass fraction of whichever species you are simulating, which is allway without units. The partial density of specie A can then be calculated by multiplying the mass fraction of A and overall density in each cell.
