wtjhaha is on a distinguished road
Dear foamers,
I am a greenhand on OpenFOAM, and recently I am studying on it. I have several examples edited by other people, but I have no idea which solver I should choose. For example, there is a quartz tube with solid particles inside, I am wondering what solver should I choose. And how do I know what parameters should be set in the 0 folder and the constant folder when editing a case ?
I know these are basics, but I really need your help!
Thanks!

Annier is an unknown quantity at this point
Hi Wang Tianjian,
The important part is the mathematical model for your geometry and material. I hope there is no fluid in your material and so i guess solid mechanics solvers are used. What are you going to solve?
-The applications/solvers available in OpenFOAM(OF) installation are standard solvers and many users have modified these solvers to develop a lot of OF solvers specific to the required physical condition. For example, you can have a look at these reports/tutorials
