HELP! OF running on 1 processor despite decomposePar

Dear OF users,

I am new to CFD and OpenFOAM. I have managed to run some smaller simulations, but now I desperately need to run a larger one in parallel and it is not working.

I have 10 cores (20 logical processors) and 64GB RAM, and am using the Windows version.

I set the numberOfSubdomains to 8 (scotch method), and yet while the snappyHexMesh is calculated, my task manager shows me that only one of the processors is busy.

This means the simulation is only running on 1 core, right?? I am quite clueless when it comes to PC hardware. A colleague from the IT department at our office told me that VT-x (which had to be enabled in the BIOS prior to Docker installation) PREVENTS the PC from running in parallel...this cannot be true, right?

Any help or explanations "for dummies" would be HIGHLY appreciated!

Hi Max,

What commands did you use for running snappyHexMesh in parallel mode? provide full steps please.

Solved...VirtualBox was deactivated!
