Hi,

Has anyone encountered issues with incorrect cell types in overset analysis of openfoam. I tried 18.12, 19.12 and 20.12. All these versions showed cells that correspond to 'background' as 'hole'. I checked visually that zone IDs are correct for background and overset region. What could be the reason? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,Barry

Have you solved it now? I'm having the same problem. The celltypes are automatically detected in a weird way though the zoneID are set correctly.

Use cellVolumeWeight for oversetInterpolation. This identified cell types correctly. But my case failed to run overPotentialFoam and overSimpleFoam.
