I am trying to validate the turbulence models in OpenFOAM as a part of my research work. I was able to successfully run incompressible Spalart Allmaras DES and DDES with pisofoam.
I able to run K-Omega SST DES model also, but the results don't seem to be correct. I am validating the models using Couette Flow with Re_tau=8600. I start the simulation with the perturbUChannel as initial condition to sustain turbulence in the flow. The results in the SA-DES show an instantaneous and mean velocity profile which are different, but in the case of k-omega SST DES the instantaneous profile coincides with the mean profile after some iterations. This leads to the wrong calculation of the Reynolds Stresses. I would like to know what I am doing wrong with the K-Omega SST DES model? |
