Hello,

I am facing a very weird problem with open-foam extend 4.
When I try to run cases with pimpleDyMFoam involving 6dof motion of the object due to the fluid forces, the solver compute the body displacement only
for the first iteration and then it continues as if it the was a static simulation.

The strange thing is that all cases were working with OF extend 3. I tried to
run a tutorial directly from the OF repository (wingmotion) and also for this case there is no motion of the airfoil.

I am missing something really obvious here? Does anybody have an idea about
what is happening?

Cheers,
D.

hjasak will become famous soon enough
No idea: I am running moving mesh cases all the time and the mesh is moving just fine.

I also have no idea. I tried to install OF extend 4 on different machines and I ended up having the same problem.

By simply running the tutorial "incompressible/pimpleDyMFoam/wingMotion/" the airfoil does not move with OF 4, but it does with OF3.2

Hi, Jasak, I tried to simulate VIV using foam-extend 4.1 with overset mesh, I want to use 6dof to simulate the solid part, making it move along a single direction, without rotation, the angular velocity should be zero, but the result is not like that, the value is huge and calculation stoped. Below is my configuration and log file. Can you please give me some hints? Thanks!
