InterFoam ending with Floating Point Exception

Hello all,
I am new to the forum and I have worked with openFoam for the last 2 months. I am running a transient multiphase simulation (interFoam11 under Ubuntu 22.04). The mesh is hand coded in 'blockMeshDict' using #calc to set up a parametric mesh for ease of cutomization. With a set of parameters interFoam runs fine in parallel but if I change just one parameter by a small amount interFoam crashes after running several steps with the Floating Point Exception. I used 'checkMesh' and it gives the OK. I understand that this error is probably due to a division by zero and that faulty BCs can be a cause. I have also tried using OF10 but I get the same error at approximately the same time step. I was wondering if there is a way to pinpoint the source of the error. Any help is greatly appreciated. As I am getting more familiar with the software I see myself helping out on the forum.

General troubleshooting:
1) visually check the created mesh, checkMesh is a hint, no guarantee
2) if 1) is ok, run again and let the solver put out results in the iteration(s) before the crash. Check the intermediate results for anything odd.
