Default An interpolating problem in paraview

Hi, dear foamers

I am working on the simulation of laser drilling. Everything went on well when I use a 2-D model (Picture01), but when it turns to 3-D I meet some problems.

Firstly, I think I need to introduce my model, the shape is a cube. Before drilling, the lower part is full of solid materials (aluminium) to be handled while upper half is full of air.

I redefine the solver (multiPhaseInterFoam) to deal with the case. So the parameter to differentiate different phase is alpha (phase fraction). When alpha is 0, it means the cell is full of air. 1 means liquid. 2means solid.

After drilling, I can hardly observe the surface topography in paraview because the air mask the lower part. Then I use function called threshold and set alpha visible when it ranges from 0.1 to 2 to ensure air is not visible. It is regrettable that some cells which contain both air and liquid are removed. The topography is too rough to be accepted (Picture02 is attached below).

So can anyone tells me how to interpolate the parameter or give some better advice?

Well, I find a button in paraview named enable opacity mapping for surface,

the scale near zero is crystal, but it only works on surface...

I have no idea about this, could anyone helps me?
