At the Gotherburg Region User Group Meeting, Håkan Nilsson talked about the new "governance model" for the OpenCFD fork of the code, which was apparatenly announced at the yearly conference. There is a list of commities covering different aspects of the code (numerics, API etc), and even the heads of the commities were named, including Prof. Jasak, but (as consequence?) not including H. Weller.

Is this information shared publically online somewhere? Are there more details, e.g. how to get involved, what platform will be used for communication, etc etc?

Quick answer: My guess is that the closest public information currently available on this is here: https://www.openfoam.com/community/repository.php

Either way, either use their contact form that they mention at the end of that page, or if you don't get an answer within a week's time, simply open a bug report at https://develop.openfoam.com

You can find some of this information under www.openfoam.com/governance/ (updated yesterday).
For the time being, for contributions, I suggest you contact OpenCFD directly.
