Hi to everybody.
I'm downloading just now the latest release of openFOAM, but I have a Hamlet's trouble:
wich kind of difference we can found between V1812(from openfoam.com) and V6(from openfoam.org)?

Thank you very much for your replies
Bye,
Piero

Quick answer:
  1. Go to this page: https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Main_Page
  2. On the top right corner you can see several links to the release notes for each version.
  3. Check the release notes for all versions of OpenFOAM+ (it refers to openfoam.com) and check the information that they provide for each version.
  4. Essentially the majority of the new features that OpenFOAM+ (OpenFOAM.com) has got, are not present in OpenFOAM (OpenFOAM.org)

Thank you very much.
So, because I'm using Ubuntu 18.04, if I want use v1812, I have to install it from source.
Well, I will try to do this.
Just another question, about Paraview 5.6: is it better to build it by source (in ThirdParty-v1812.tgz) , or can be used the pre-compiled version instead?
Thank you very much again

you can follow the instruction provided by the wiki:
https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/I...u#Ubuntu_18.04

Just change 1806 to 1812 when executing each step and you should be fine.
If you have decided to build Paraview, make sure you have xmlpatterns installed for qt5:

Code:
sudo apt install libqt5xmlpatterns5 libqt5xmlpatterns5-dev qtxmlpatterns5-dev-tools
Paraview will successfully install even without it but an error "could not exec xmlpattern" pops up during compile of Paraview and OpenFOAM's Paraview reader.
