Hi all,
I want to do the simulations with dynamic mesh. Please find the following figures for the problem. The movingWall only moves in x-direction. So I following movingCone case in the tutorial to setup the file 'pointMotionUx'. The problem is that the mesh will move in the whole domain. I just want the mesh to move in the 'dynamic zone' as shown in the figure 2. The last figure shows the mesh after it moves. Can anyone tell me which motion solver I should use? or how can I separate the zone to make sure that the mesh only moves in a specific zone? Thanks, Chao ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ file: dynamicMeshDict dynamicFvMesh dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh; motionSolverLibs ("libfvMotionSolvers.so"); motionSolver velocityComponentLaplacian; component x; diffusivity directional (1 100 0); ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ movingWall.png move1.0000.jpg move1.0014.jpg |

Hi,
I would not use the topoCone example as it is for cell remove/adding purposes and the set-up is a bit more difficult as you think. I would just move the wall you defined to be moved. Somehow like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Atoz4VVuV5A. You need to use a dynamic mesh solver and move the boundary you want. All other patches are fixed and the cells inside your mesh gets distorted based on a diffusion equation. Good luck. Tobi
