Haha, thanks, it is nice to have written proof that I am friendly It can definitely become handy one day.
Cheers, Niels P.S. Yes, those days, where you had to read for hours on Doxygen just to write one simple line. The struggle and the hot coco on those dark, Northern winter days with the fallen leaves as the only company to cheer you up.

I must admit: there is no doubt of the fact that you are a lot older than I.

Mmm... Now I understand why Russians didn't bother investing on computers and instead developed heavy-duty mathematics, using human brain power.
Besides, paper and pencil/pen can be a lot lighter than having to push carts with stone-based punching cards Although, I'm guessing that chiselling the holes into the stone tablets would be a good way to relieve the stress |

Greetings to all!
Information about the OpenFOAM et al version templates is finally on the FAQ, in the Wiki chapter: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/FAQ/Wiki
I've also updated the "OF Version Gimp Kit", by adding a template for the new foam-extend 3.0, which is currently (slowly) rolling out. Wondering what it looks like? Have a look at this page: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...oam-extend-3.0 I did it like that, because at least a temporary image was necessary. I had a couple more ideas and they are present in the toolkit as well. Attached were the ideas I had in mind, where the first one is the one presently on the openfoamwiki.net. I really like the second one, but I thought that it was... too italic By the way, does anyone know if it's OK to call it "FOAM-Extend" instead of "foam-extend"? http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ca...nd_Version_3.0 Best regards, Bruno |

Nice. I vote for FOAM-extend or foam-extend, because it is the name
Cheers, Niels

Good morning,
I have problems connecting to the wiki, however, the problems must have occurred within the last 30 minutes, since I visited earlier this morning. Kind regards, Niels P.S. I like the new layout

I'm working on the problem. Seems like the onboard NIC of the server forgot its MAC-address and everything is going downhill from there Thanks about the layout I'll post here and tweet once the problem is solved

Hi all,
just a question (I dont figure out an answer). If you create a nice PDF book (great thing) I have problems with <cpp> code blocks. If I use <pre> everything is okay. Could this be solved?

Hello Bernhard,
your page is (in my opinion) also good. You have the same problems like I have with <cpp> - in your case <phyton> and of course the first lines of the OpenFOAM compatibility is very bad. But if I go through the file its okay. Only the problem with that <python> -> should also changed to <pre> (: Here you get it: www.holzmann-cfd.de/cfd-online/Contrib_PyFoam.pdf

Anyway. As far as I can tell the problem with <python>/<cpp> is that the PDF-renderer doesn't know them. They were introduced by an extension. <pre> is standard and therefor the renderer can handle it. So the tradeoff is "syntax-highlighed on the Web and ugly PDF" vs "boring code on the Web and OK PDF". In doubt I'd stay with the first but everyone can do for the content he supplies the way he wants to

Greetings to all!
@Bernhard: Either I need to restart my router/modem, or there was an internet backbone that broke... or the server where openfoamwiki.net is installed, is in need of attention, because I'm not able to access it at this moment It was a bit sluggish today, but now it seems to have simply given up to work... Best regards, Bruno |

I'm seeing again a need to have a static mirror of the wiki...
After some light researching, it would seem that WP-Mirror could help - http://www.nongnu.org/wp-mirror/ - but it does a fully fledged working wiki... which may or may not be a good idea. Beyond that, the new template seems to be relying on PHP delivered scripts, which might be overloading things, since it increases the PHP requests by two or three times (if not more) per page. But I don't have a copy of the old site, so it's only an estimated guess. |
