I'm evaluating forces on the destroyer model DTMB 5512. Pressure computations are very encouraging; however, viscous drag is unexpectedly small, approximately 1 percent of pressure drag. I did some exploration of inputs. B 10 (wall functions) and B20 (slip or no-slip) appear to have no influence. T 10 2 (k-omega) appears to give reasonable pressure forces and small viscous forces, but T 10 1 (k-epsilon) appears to lead to unrealistically high pressure forces. X 31 (boundary condition on solid) appears to have only minor impact. Is there a reason why viscous forces might be so small on the floating body?
