Hello, new to CFD here

I modelling a plain bearing, whose journal has a bore. I would like to monitor the height of the gap above the bore and also the height of the lowest distance between journal and shell.

I have a coordinate system at the center of the journal and another at the center of the shell. When the journal and shell are concentric, these would be coincident. I figured I could place a point at the center of the bore outlet's face, and calculate it's distance to the shell center. Then, I could subtract the shell radius from this distance to find the gap height. The problem is, I dont know how to extract the position of a point.

For the second measument, I could simply subtract the position of the bores from one another. Could you guys show me how to extract this monitor, or if there is a better way to do it? Much appreciated!

Good day

You must be sure the point will move and not to get static, for this when create the point you must link it to the part/parts will move (in the parts ... selector), second you must activate "follow motion" option.
to create a monitor of the point's position, you must create an XY plot and select "Scalar" at the data type option and select for X and Y which scalar do you need, for point's position you look for position ion X,Y or Z direction axis. To select the body you need to track, in the "parts" option select the derived part "point" you created.

Hope this work for you
