Hi all,

I am using ANSYS 14.5 or 17.2.Anyway, I could get vectorial deformations from Static Structural. But I could not see volumetric deformations values. How can I get it? or is there any software to obtain it?

Kind Regards,

Gweher will become famous soon enough
Hi Onur,

The feature you’re looking for isn’t’ directly implemented in WB nor APDL classic. One way around is to store the volume of each element using ETABLE, once you’ve solved the static structural you can use the UPCOORD command which modifies the coordinates of the selected nodes based on displacements. Then output the updated element volume with a second ETABLE. This will give you the volume of the deformed elements. The difference of your 2 ETABLE will give you the output you need.

Bests,
