Hi All,

Is there a way to plot vortex lines similar to streamline plotting in Tecplot?

Vortex lines are tangent everywhere to the local vorticity vector as opposed to the local velocity vector for streamlines i.e:

\frac{dx}{\omega_x}=\frac{dy}{\omega_y}=\frac{dz}{\omega_z}

Kind regards,

For anybody interested in the same question the solution is simple (and the question is rather silly!). Calculate the vorticity field (\omega_x,\omega_y,\omega_z) and use those variables as field variables in the streamtrace tool.

Kind regards,
