Hello everyone,

I succeeded building the CGNS libraries under Cygwin, and so I tried to compile some code fortran files, and it generated with CGNS format.

When I tried to read those files with TECPLOT, it failed!! But with the CGNSbrowser it's fine!

So I'm asking if someone met the same issue and what do you suggest to overcome this problem?

In Cygwin you should have some Unix utilities like diff, use this to see if there are binary differences between your generated CGNS and the reference CGNS file.

I've worked in the past with Tecplot but only with text files, not with binaries.

Maybe I'm wrong but CGNS does not let you to also save in plain ASCII format ? Try, if possible, to save in ASCII format and read this in Tecplot (this way you will avoid any difference between how the binary is handled).

Or maybe Tecplot can't handle your CGNS file:

CGNS comes with a cgns_to_tecplot converter. Try that.

I have Tecplot 360 2006 version, and the cgns lib version is 2.5 .

So do you think they are incompatible?

Thanks.

Is upgrading your version of Tecplot an option? If I recall correctly, Tecplot 360 2006 used version 2.3 of the CGNS library. The newer versions use version 2.4, but should generally load 2.5 files without problems. (In those, you may receive a warning message about the library difference, but just continue on.)

I succeeded in reading some of the cgns files generated, but others failed.

And Tecplot keep notifying that the cgns version that I used is more recent than it's own.
