I am currently meshing a very thin cylinder using swept method, edge sizing, and a face meshing with 100 internal divisions. When I try to apply this same mesh to a half cylinder (to use symmetry), there is no way to do internal divisions through face meshing. Edge sizing does not seem to work either.

Any Suggestions?

To quote the Ansys Meshing User Guide help/wb_msh/msh_Basic_Map_Face_Mesh.html: For the Definition> Internal Number of Divisions control, specify the number of divisions across annular regions or seamless cylinders. Hence, not possible for a half cylinder.

Can you just use edge sizings to set the number of divisions and behavior to Hard for the Sweep Method (which is default if the geometry is suitable). Or give the MultiZone Method a try.

I cannot guess what you are simulating that requires so many elements through such a thin wall at such a high aspect ratio.
