Hi, everybody
I have a problem in meshing a 3d ship wind sail in gambit. I create the geometry in 2d and then sweep it. Then i create a cube as the compute domain, see picture . finally, i subtract the cube with the wind sail. here come the question that how i can mesh these things? regarding it is symmetry, i cut them into two from middle. if i use TGRID/tet-hybrid, it would be costy and the meshing quality is poor. can anybody tell me about a good scheme(such as multigrid) of meshing in 2D so that i can use the cooper scheme? I really appreciate if you can give me some advices. |

yet, another problem, the soft sail is very thin, can i regard it as an edge in 2d or just a face in 3d? it seems that the gambit can not handle such a problem as it is a lower dimension.....is it true ?

you can try using size functions for instance

do you know how to mesh the multi-element airfoil like pic1 in structured mesh in gambit?

by dividing the domain into smaller and logical subdomains (>>splits)

check tutorials first
http://my.fit.edu/itresources/manual...guide/tg04.htm this one explains how you can divide your domain into logical subdomains
