Hi,
I am working on a case to estimate tip clearance effect in a radial turbine. I have already modeled my blade on bladegen and meshed the same in turbogrid with an acceptable mesh quality. However, I need to modify the shroud tip clearance to have multiple cases. I have tried doing it in turbogrid by using variable nominal distance at the leading edge and trailing edge. However, this results in trimming of the blade from leading edge and trailing edge. Is there a way by which I can keep my blade dimensions and offset the shroud to achieve different clearance magnitudes? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help. Dear Prakhar,
I never used TurboGrid, but in NUMECA's AutoGrid5 its rather easy to a) change the tip clearance by cutting of the blade b) modifying the shroud geometry either by drag-and-drop or manually editing the coordinates of the shroud contour (even if the shroud contour is of complex shape). If you like to know more don't hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Holger |
