How to calculate Re for a flow channel with varying diameter?

Default How to calculate Re for a flow channel with varying diameter?

I am trying to calculate the Reynolds number for the flow shown in the picture. As you can see in the attached picture, the flow expands into a larger diameter and then confines into a smaller diameter. Could anyone please tell me how to calculate the Reynolds number in the highlighted region? is the flow laminar or turbulent in that region?

Also, what turbulence model would be suitable for that flow?

You have about 10^3 for the exiting flow and increases while expanding in the larger section. Flow is turbulent there.
