Dear All,

I followed all steps of openFOAM installation instruction: https://openfoam.org/download/7-ubuntu/. The site states that OpenFOAM 7 and ParaView 5.6.0 will be installed in the /opt directory. But after complete installation in that folder I have OpenFOAM 7 and ParaView 5.4 installed instead of Paraview 5.6.0. Could someone enplane this issue to me?

Quick answer: ParaView 5.6.0 is not supported on Ubuntu 16.04, due to being available a recent enough Qt 5 version provided by Ubuntu, therefore ParaView 5.4.0 is provided as a good alternative.

If you want ParaView 5.6.0, you will have to upgrade Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04.

Dear wyldckat

Many thanks for your reply. I am confused by the fact that this site claims that both packages (openfoam 7 and paraview 5.6.0) are available for the different versions of ubuntu package including 16.04 LTS 64 bit. That is why I used ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
Now I will upgrade ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
