I am new to OpenFOAM and am transitioning to using OpenFOAM from StarmCCM+.
I am trying to open a StarCCM+ mesh in OpenFOAM. I saw there are several possible commands like ccmToFoam, which requires a.ccm file. Unfortunately, the HPC platform I use does not have the ccm2Foam in their installation but has star4ToFoam. It is my understanding the star4ToFoam requires the “ProStar” mesh. I am not sure what output extension would that be. Based on some google search, it seems that the “ProStar” mesh is the .cel extension. So I tried exporting the mesh with the .cel extension as seen in the “StarCCM_export” screenshot. Then I used star4ToFoam command to convert it to the OpenFOAM format (see screenshot “star4ToFoam”). However, it gives me an error saying there are no cells. Could you please advise me on where I may be going wrong? Any pointers in the right direction would be highly appreciated. Thank you! |
