Cells don't have an area, only a volume. If your mesh is 2d, then the area is the volume of the cell divided by its depth.

I think July means cell face area which definitively exists. I would also like to know the answer to this question, i.e., how to obtain the cell face area ?

In STAR-CD, it's possible to access any data in all its user files, but for user files such as SORSCA, it's just a bit involved (that is it's not straightforward to explain it here). I am sure if you ask CD's support, they will be able to provide you what you need.

Hi I am not sure why you want to know the cell area (for these subroutines) but it is possible to go to menu 'utility' -> 'calculate area' -> 'choose the way how to obtain the area' in prostar.
I hope it hepls. Vladimir |
