Hello, nice to meet you.
I am a student studying Star-CCM+ at a university in Korea.
doing power calculations for NREL 5MW models.

At 11.4 m/s, the rated wind speed of the NREL 5MW turbine, approximately 5MW power could be seen.
However, after rotating the blade pitch angle, the wind speed was changed, resulting in greater power (8MW).

I referred to the table of fig.1 (Table 7-1).
Fixed / 12.1 rpm
velocity / 15m/s

Was there a problem with my setup?

I don't understand what the question is but I wonder, what are you simulating, what do you want to get out of the sim?
25m/s is Beaufort 10, do wind turbines operate at Beaufort 10 (storm conditions)?

I think I understand the question and a windspeed of 25 m/s is not impossible, but at the upper limit of practicality. The NREL 5MW turbine to which I assume we are referring has a cutout windspeed of 25 m/s so it would start breaking and not generate power at or above that speed. However, just before cutout you would expect to see more power than the 'rated' condition of 5MW if you aren't relying on a pitch controller to limit the torque supplied to the generator and keep you in the 5MW range.

Basically, a 5MW rating and a 5MW limit are not the same thing. Just because it's called a 5MW turbine doesn't mean it can't do 5.1 MW or 6MW or 8MW on paper... I emphasize that last part.

Thanks for the insight Matt!
