I am trying to re-validate an incompressible flow over the NACA 23012 airfoil using OpenFOAM and the values of lift coefficient are conflicting with the values from experiment and the previously conducted simulation in ANSYS Fluent I carried out.
Now, the mesh is the same one I created in ICEM CFD which I exported into OpenFOAM using fluentmeshtofoam. So I'm not exactly sure it's a problem of mesh accuracy but I'm happy to be proven wrong. I used the same BCs and turbulence model as well. The lift coefficient values from experiment and previous simulations are roughly 0.55 while the one I'm getting is 0.26. Please help. Thanks |

Can you provide your case file or at least a description of the case and your setup.
There are many factors that can play a role: mesh, solvers and turbulence models and their specific implementation, settings, initial conditions... |
